Buckeye Gym is a family-owned, old-school training facility in Tallmadge, Ohio, known for its gritty atmosphere and loyal community. Despite the gym’s solid reputation and dedicated base, its outdated online presence was limiting growth, visibility, and local credibility. We stepped in to completely overhaul their digital foundation (from the website to the SEO strategy) giving the brand the online strength to match its real-world reputation.

The Goal:
The goal was simple: bring Buckeye Gym’s online presence up to the level of its offline experience. The previous website was clunky, bland, and gave off a completely different vibe from the gritty, high-intensity training atmosphere the gym is known for. There was no clear value communicated, no differentiation from big-box gyms, and no easy path for new visitors to take action. Beyond the website, the Google Business Profile lacked optimization and wasn’t driving traffic. We aimed to create a modern, powerful site that told the gym’s story, increased visibility, and turned curious locals into loyal members.
The Challenge:
The starting point was rough. The old site had a generic layout, and didn’t yet reflect any of the personality or uniqueness of Buckeye Gym. It looked like a plug-and-play template with no soul. There was no SEO structure in place — no proper meta tags, slow loading speed, and zero Google indexing. On top of that, the Google Business listing was under-optimized, had limited visibility for search terms like “gym near me,” and lacked any serious review strategy. Buckeye Gym had the potential, but its digital footprint didn’t show it. The challenge was to take this underperforming setup and turn it into a high-performing local SEO machine with a visual edge.
The Results:
We delivered a complete transformation, both in look and performance. The new site showcases Buckeye Gym’s old-school, no-BS identity through strong visuals, strategic copy, and a layout built to convert. We added visual hierarchy, modern UI sections for services, reviews, and pricing, and made it mobile-optimized from the ground up. On the SEO side, we optimized everything from schema to heading structure, plugged it into Google Search Console, and monitored rankings daily. Within the first 60 days, the gym ranked for keywords like “Buckeye Gym,” “gym near me,” and “Tallmadge gym,” with over 4,000 search impressions and a 6.8% CTR. Clicks skyrocketed from few to 282. Buckeye Gym now owns its local search space, with a bold, professional website that matches its in-person energy and gives it an edge over every generic competitor in town.
